About

3J’s Excavation started from simple roots. In 2009 owner Josh Gaerte purchased a John Deere 490E excavator for clearing off land he purchased. His uncles and dad owned an old Td6 international track loader that was converted to a dozer. After finishing his home project he was approached by others asking to do work. Josh started by digging irrigation pipelines, clearing fence rows, and digging basements. As word grew so did the services Josh provided. His mechanical engineering degree, upbringing around heavy machinery, and devotion to studying and learning excavation practices increased his skills and abilities to better server his customers and branch out into other areas in the trade. This was all happening on the side as Josh worked as a full time engineer.

In 2012 3J’s Excavating LLC was created. The name “3J’s” came from Josh, his dad Jerry, and his brother Jason. Not long after the creation of 3J’s Josh began to expand his dirt moving arsenal. He updated equipment and increased his production efficiency by having machines more suited for particular jobs. Today 3J’s can take on the smallest job to site work.

I want the job done as if I was doing it for myself. That means leaving the site better than we found it. By doing the little things, going that extra mile, and striving to exceed customer’s expectations. To me excavation is a lot more than moving earth. Its about building lasting relationships.”
